Waters as blue as the Caribbean ocean push against the shorelines of Port Washington, Wisconsin. Brittney and Shane’s laughs echo off the tress as they joke around. The sun was shining down on them as they walked up and down the shorelines. Sandy pushing between their toes. The final beach goers gathering up their stuff after a long day in the sun. The warmth that surrounded Brittney and Shane matched the love they had for each other perfectly!
Brittney wanted a more beach style engagement since their wedding was going to be on the waters of Lake Geneva in southern Wisconsin. Since they call Illinois home, we decided to meet in the middle in Port Washington, Wisconsin for their engagement session. And to say I was blown away by how stunning it was there is the understatement of the year. The waters are as blue as the Caribbean and that is NO exaggeration (if you know me well, you know I like to exaggerate just a little bit). But I am being honest. These waters are INSANE!
I decided to try out this park called Coal Dock Park after some serious internet stalking. It looked like a solid place to start and had a killer breakwater. Little did I know, the history of this place is equally as interesting. Or at least too Shane and I it was. The park was originally the place where the coal piles sat for the power plant. Years after, when the plant decided to convert to natural gas, they converted the coal dock to a beautiful park along the water.
Brittney and Shane, I just wanted to thank you for trusting me into picking the location for your engagement session. And also, for walking what probably felt like 10 miles to get out to the breakwater. I think it was worth it in the end but I will let you be the judge of that! Enjoy a few sneak peeks from you engagement session and a beautiful holiday weekend to you all!
