Every single piece of a wedding day is hand picked by the bride and groom. Details are poured over. Ever piece has a meaning. When I met Scott at the family farm, I noticed a black Ford truck. I commented on how nicely maintained it was. After looking over at the truck for a moment he paused. He looked back at me and smiled. Like he had some secret. When he looked back at me, his next words shocked me.
He told me that the truck had not been out of the barn in eight years. This was the first time it had seen sun in eight years. He went on to explain that his cousin had passed away in that truck. So after years of hiding in the barn, Scott has pulled it out to bring his cousin with him on his wedding day.
Who is reaching for a tissue right now? Because when he told me that story, he reminded me why I shoot weddings. I shoot them because of all the importance surrounding them. Not just the wedding itself, but those tiny details that add value to their day.
The Johnson’s continued to incorporate who they are as a couple into their wedding day. It was held at Katilyn’s family’s house creating a beautiful backyard wedding. A farm that was been in her family for years. Every detail of their day from start to finish has so much meaning which made it perfect.
Kaitlyn and Scott, thank you for inviting me into your family home and allowing me to capture the pure beauty that was your wedding day. I don’t think you could have at more perfect weather and have been surrounded by a better group of people. Enjoy a few sneak peeks from your wedding day!
