People always ask me what my favorite part of a wedding day is and honestly that’s a hard question to answer. I think every wedding is unique. There is always a favorite moment in every wedding day for me. Whether its how the groom reacted when he saw his bride for the first time or what the father’s speech was at dinner. Something always sticks out. For Brandon and Sam’s wedding, there is one moment that truly defined it for me. One small piece that had the most impact.

Light was streaming in through the church stain glass. Family and friends were surrounding them completely. Quietly waiting for the next part of the ceremony. Lucas was called up to the alter. Walking his way up, Brandon got down on one knee. He looked Lucas in the eyes and with everything he was, he handed not only Sam is heart but also Lucas. You see, Brandon has more than just vows for Sam, his beautiful bride. He also had them for Lucas. Brandon promised him to be the best father he knew how to be. He promised him to always be there for Lucas. Brandon every gave Lucas a necklace to show his love to his son. So when people ask me what is my favorite part of a wedding day, I can never really answer. Each one is unique.

This moment between Lucas and Brandon stuck out for one reason. Brandon was not only making a promise to Sam. He wasn’t only giving his heart to her but he also handed it to Lucas. He created a marriage that was for the whole family and not just husband and wife. That single moment speak highly to the man Brandon is. It shows how truly wonderful he is as a person. Sam is an excellent mother. She has raised Lucas to be a caring and thoughtful little boy. And now, she gets to do it with her husband by her side.
