I could go back to Labor Day weekend for this engagement session all over again. The lack of cellphone reception in Phelps Wisconsin brings peace back to our crazy lives. Jeff & Bri invited me up to their family cabin to capture their engagement photos. When Bri and I were talking about places for engagement photos, I always emphasize doing it somewhere that is important to them. Do you have a boat, lets do your session at long tail. An awesome family cabin with an extra bed for me? I am all in. Psst, I even heard the fishing was great on the lake but didn’t tell my husband that. He would have forced his way into the car to go:) That statement is also based on the fact Jeff’s family was fishing while we hung out at the boathouse.
So I mentioned a boathouse so let me set the stage for you. The night before as we sat around the campfire, we were talking about places to go the next morning for their photos. Someone mentioned a boathouse and of course my little ears perked right up. When I found out said boathouse was white, I nearly did a happy dance right then and there. But this is not some random boathouse on a lake in Phelps Wisconsin. Nooooo! This was at one point in time Al Capone’s boathouse. If you don’t know who that is, google it right now. I will wait. Did you find him? Ahhh, now I see the lightbulb go off. How can I resist such an attractive location for engagement photos! So off we went, to the boathouse for their engagement photos:)
Where do I even begin with these two. They are like a match made in heaven. Jeff is very calm and relax. Very much a “roll with the punches” type of person. Its a perfect balance to Bri’s outgoing, go getting attitude. She is a planner and very skillful at everything she does in life. I have known Bri since we played soccer in middle school. She has always been the silent leader of the team. Getting the job done regardless of what is going on around her. Both Bri and Jeff make the perfect match that balances each other out.
Bri & Jeff, I can’t wait to watch you become husband and wife next year. I will say that marriage isn’t easy. It has great moments and questionable moments. There is such a mindset today upon our generation that are quitting at marriage. Don’t quit ever. What you both have is hard to find. I can tell by the way you both interact with each other. Yes, you may get on each others nerves and there may be days you are wondering why but always remember why you first talked in the bar. Why you approached each other and remember those butterflies and the day he asked you for forever.
Marriage is a tough journey but the sit back and enjoy the ride. Here is a few favorites from your Phelps Wisconsin engagement session.
I love you both dearly 🙂
