I just have to start by saying that you two are a couple after my own heart. Much like my husband and I, Katie & Jordan happen to be high school sweethearts :). So now you understand when I say that their story hits close to home. But how their story begins is a little different. But it ends the same.
Katie got a message one night from Jordan stating he had a bone to pick with her. They both played band together and so one day on the bus to a football game that they we playing at, Jordan wanted to sit by Katie’s friend. I know what you are thinking but keep reading, it gets better! She continued to talk with Jordan and eventually they agreed to sit on the bus together for the next trip. But once the time came, Katie continued to sit with her friend. On the ride home, things changed and Katie ended up sitting next to Jordan finally. As they continued to talk on the way home, they agreed to sit next to each other on the next bus ride. And the rest as they say, is history. They became bus buddies which turned into a relationship. But their story doesn’t end, it keeps growing right into marriage.
Katie & Jordan, your story hits so close to home. I also know the difficulties of a relationship that starts so young. The growing pains of learning to grow up together. The excitement of sharing so many moments with the person you love. I get it. But you two have overcome it all. Your relationship is so strong. It has withstood the challenge of distance as Jordan pursued an education at Madison and your pursuit at home. It battled through the four years of distance and came out stronger in the end. Your love is strong. I think people always assume that high school love is not built to last. But you two proved that to be wrong. You proved that love is the strongest of bonds. You proved that with love, anything is possible. Here is too many years of proving people wrong.
Love always, Camille
